Mr Heater Big Buddy portable propane heater
This is our second Mr heater product. We also own a Portable Buddy. We purchased the Portable Buddy 10 years ago for general garage and motor home heating duty. The Portable Buddy does not run well on low pressure gas. Low pressure is what you have after it goes through a gas regulator. The Motor Home is a low pressure system, therefore the Portable Buddy never lived up to its potential in that usage. In the garage… different story. Running from a regular unregulated 10 gallon propane tank the full 9K BTU potential could be attained. Enter The Big Buddy, which has a low pressure quick disconnect gas fitting. Now there is no problem getting full BTU output in the Motor Home. We seldom have both burners going, the 9K BTU medium setting does very well. If the Big Buddy runs as well as the Portable Buddy, we have years of problem free usage ahead of us.
